2019年1月1日活動開始。
メタバース / ソーシャルVR空間で行う「バーチャルライブ」を中心に、次世代の音楽活動を模索するバンド。
ボーカルを担当するアラン、作曲と技術開発を担当するぴぼの2人組。
自作システムを用いたVR空間での全世界同時ライブ「#解釈不一致」がTwitterトレンド入りするなど、次世代の音楽活動を自ら切り拓いている。 邦オルタナティブロックとインターネット音楽シーンに影響された楽曲とアランの歌唱力は高く評価されており、CHUNITHM、SOUND VOLTEX、pop’n music、Muse Dashを始めとした数々の音楽ゲームに楽曲提供を行っている。
2024年11月、渋谷clubasiaにて基底現実ライブを解禁。活動の幅をさらに拡大している。

The name memex comes from "Memex", the ideal digital library in "As We May Think" by Vannevar Bush.
"Memex had a great influence on the later development of the Internet.
We hope that memex will have a similar impact on the musical activities at Metaverse.
